Tomorrow, The Academy will announce the nominations for the 97th award in March. Below are my guesses for the big 8 awards, and hopefully I nailed it. We will find out in a few days.

With this being Culkin’s award to lose at this point, the only real reach I think I made year was Edward Norton. He was excellent as Pete Seeger, and I could see the Academy including him here.

I imagine this category is only really down to a couple threats, with Saldana being the clear favorite. The Brutalist is gaining steam, so this is another category I see a nomination for it. I also personally wouldn’t put Selina Gomez in this as I think she wasn’t very good in the film, but I like to be right, so it stays in. I would not be mad if Monica Barbaro finds her way in this group instead.

As much as I love Dune: Part 2, I think I am being a homer including Villeneuve here. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Coralie Fargeat take that spot. I would be surprised if any of the other 4 drop out.

This is a solid 10, and I could make an argument for Nickel Boys or September 5. I just can’t think of which film I would take out of the 10 to make room for either of them. Maybe Sing Sing or The Substance? I just don’t see that though
